The 11th Water and Energy Technology & Environment Exhibition 2009 – WETEX 2009 was held at the Za’abeel Hall, Dubai International Exhibition and Trade Center, from March 29-31, 2009. Organized by the Dubai Electricity & Water Authority, the event attracted participation from 23 countries world-wide and a large number of visitors who were keen to explore new technologies and solutions.
The three-day exhibition also hosted 25 workshops and a seminar on water and energy resources.
WETEX, the first of its kind show in the region, tackled critical issues in energy conservation, water and electricity, including environmental protection and preservation. DEWA’s stand as well as the green building stand which aimed at enhancing awareness in protecting the natural resources of Dubai attracted a multitude of visitors.
The WETEX Conference, newly introduced at WETEX 2009, was an overwhelming success with important topics being discussed during the two-day conference, leading to better awareness and understanding for the utilities business, energy, water, and environment sustainability. |

HH Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Rule of Dubai and Minister of Finance has inaugurated the show at 10 am on 29 March 2009.
Inauguration was also attended by a host of Ambassadors & other diplomats of various countries, senior level decision makers from Government authorities, and of course large number of Media personnel. |

Over 91% of the exhibitors were pleased with the results of this show, some of them already bagged lucrative contracts, while others are still fine tuning their deals. |
